  • 1/2 cup75 gFresh strawberries, sliced

Steps

  1. 1

Put the frozen banana, frozen berries, Greek yogurt and almond milk in a blender.

  2. 2

Blend on low, stopping to scrape down the sides and push the fruit towards the blades, until thick and smooth.

  3. 3

If the blender stalls, add the almond milk a teaspoon at a time from the measured amount; the mixture should be thick enough to hold a spoon.

Arrange the sliced strawberries and kiwi on top.

  6. 6

Sprinkle over the chia seeds and pumpkin seeds, and serve straight away.

Swaps, storage and make-ahead

Swaps

  • For a dairy-free version, use an unsweetened soy or coconut yogurt instead of the Greek yogurt.
  • To make it vegan, swap the Greek yogurt for an unsweetened soy or coconut yogurt, choosing one labelled vegan.
  • Use any milk you like in place of almond milk, such as oat milk (choose one labelled gluten-free if needed) or dairy milk.
  • Swap the pumpkin seeds for sunflower seeds or chopped nuts for a different crunch.

Storage

This bowl is best eaten fresh, as it melts and loses its thick texture quickly. Leftover blended smoothie can be frozen in a lidded container and re-blended with a splash of milk, but add the fresh toppings just before serving.

Make ahead

Slice and freeze the banana and pre-portion the frozen fruit into freezer bags up to a month ahead. You can also slice the strawberries and kiwi a few hours early and keep them covered in the fridge.
